At the end of February (24th-25th) it took place the first General Assembly of Copernicus Marine Service In Situ Component (kick-off meeting of Copernicus Marine Service 2 – phase 1). During this meeting an overall status update of the progress on products and services produced by the In Situ Component members was carried out with a particular interest on the extension of the temporal & spatial coverage of these ones (by means of new providers and sources) as well as its overall quality (assessments workflows).
In terms of INSTAC governance, in addition to the Steering committee, a Stakeholder engagement board has been created. Stakeholder Board will allow better interaction with main In Situ data management services and data providers in Europe, facilitating collaboration and avoiding duplication of efforts. The first meeting was organized side to this General Assembly.
The In Situ Component family goes on working hard to maintain an operational delivery of harmonized in situ observations datasets all over the world, trying to improve the results everyday, in terms of extension, quality and accuracy, following the FAIR principles.
